Hi there!

This forum is working really great! You guys already helped me out on a lot of things!!!

Next question: When I create an open path in a shape layer, PS automatically closes the path to make the fill. Or it doesn't actually close the path, but at least in interprets is as if it were closed...you probably know what I mean...

However I'm not interested in the fill at all, I just want to stroke the path. I figured I could use the fill layer stile, but then I still get the fill and the fill's boundary gets stroked instead of just the path.

Is there something like a stroke layer? So that I could easily change the color of the stroked path (just like a fill layer) or do I have to stroke it on a normal layer, which means that I have no easy edit options afterwards except for deleting the old layer and make a new one...

Thanx in advance!!!

at the bottom of the path- gee, all of a sudden I swallowed the word. huh. Well, your path "window". :P there's a ring/circle that will "stroke path" with your forground color. Just make sure your brushtool has the pixelamount you want on the stroke.

I haven't had the need for that, so I don't know. And for the record...
I'm not a dude.

In the layers palette you can reduce the fill to 0% & use the layer style stroke option - but for an open path, the only way to do it is emm's way coz the layer style stroke closes off the open path like a fill does. The other option is use the layer style & apply a mask to your layer & mask out the section of stroke that closes off the path.
