Im new, I NEED HELP FOR STUPID THINGS

Im new with photoshop, and I want to learn everything about importing an image you scan to photoshop and color it after, coz I dont even know how to import it, I already got a .bmp file I made and want to color it, im bad, HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!

File>Import>Select your Scanner or Twain driver.

The problem is that i'm on a sever at my house so my scanner isnt on mine, when I want to scan for pics, I gotta go on anotha pc that has win 98 on it coz my scanner only works with that version... and my pic is saved on my desktop and it's a .bmp file and in photohop it's writed you can only import pdf images, also when I OPEN the .bmp file I cant even draw on it with colors, only black n' white, dont any of you got a site dedicated to this, drawing scanned images made by hand?????? I gotta train a little bit...:P

OK no sweat. Once the bitmap is in PS, go to Image>Mode>RGB. You'll have full functionality.

Change the Mode from GRAYSCALE to RBG

IMAGE>MODE>RBG Color...

A site with really basic basic tutorials is what's gonna help me the most coz im really really new with photoshop as you see... Do you have one? Oh and for drawing, Do all the artists use a digital tablet?

not all artists use tablets but theyare easier and faster ............

as for tutorials i think photoshop comes with a tutorial click help or f1

in there is a wealth of knowledge .... possibly go to your library and type photoshop or digital drawing into their catalog computers ... free cant beat that and you dont have to minimise your windows to see what your supposed to do
