Smart Slicing? Is it possible?

Is there a way to slice a certain part of an image according to a marquee selection?

All slices for html are rectangles as far as I know. :)

yea, but i need to slice a certain rectangle on an interface, and I don't want to slice over the background with marquee magic wand it selects, can i slice it?

I guess you can slice it however you want in Fireworks Mx.

In photoshop, you can only slice rectangular, even I'm not really sure what you mean! Make a slice from your selection?

nope sorry, they all have to be rectagles, boxes ect.. 4 sided figure.

You can easily slice in Imageready/Photoshop, drag out some gguides and choose the "snap" option, this way your slices will be clean.

If you have a weird shape you need, you can do overlapping slices as a work around, i dont recomend iot though, but you can do it.
