I'm making this logo for a company called quadrantium. They "will propose services in finance : automated trading of a portfolio of future contract" This is what I made. I need advice to make it better and stuff like that.:)

Nice looking piece, but the blues should definitely be brighter and the whites whiter for financial services. It's a psychology/branding thing.
And definitely Kern. The logo itself looks cool, but getting those characters equally spaced is essential. And make sure that your logo itself is NOT done in PS. It shoud be a vector, and then imported so you can add you effects. You want to keep the vector always though, because they'll want it for their printed materials.

This is killing me, I forgot what Kern is! And what do you mean by the whites whiter and the blues brighter?

Kern means standardize the individual spaces between letters. Normally, the font will have a reasonable approximation based on the letter, but it's very rarely perfect. I like the space between the Q&u but if you look, i&u and u&m are much wider apart.
Also, your dimming of the background muted the vibrancy of the blue and removed the white, and while cool, I don't think this is the type of look you'd want for a financial service. The café background is much more in line with that type of branding. So I'd suggest that you might want to lower the midtones only of the original rather than lose the highlighs, and bring up the saturation of the blue. Not that it would necessarily LOOK better, but it would bring it closer to the type of imagery you'd want for a financial service.

You might also consider losing the effects and seeing how it stands by itself, A logo should look good in black on white, as well as in color and should be scalable so that it looks just as good on a billboard as it does on a business card or letterhead.
