Hi, I am sure I read this on this site some time ago.. Colin had a tip on how to set up PS so that when you click on any item, Photoshop automatically jump to that layer.. without having to hold down ctrl... IN FACT, I could swear there was a way to make many custom shortcuts too, but we cannot remember how. Has ANYone heard of how to do this?... any help would be much appreciated. - thanks!

Hi, thanks for the link, Urban. However, I had already gone to look at that page for tips and did not find the one about the layers. I remember that once I set it this way, it worked each time I used Photoshop. I no longer had to press the ctrl key and click the thumbnail in the layers palette to get in a layer.. I had only to click on the part of the picture and it would just jump to that layer.

Sorry...I read the thingy wrong...if you have PS7 you set this up by checking Auto select up top on ps7...now on ps6 I forgot, i think its the same...i never liked that command...i prefer the shift and click!

Control + clicking (the mac one? )[like right-click on a pc ?] on the image then you get the drop down list of all the layers under the cursor?
CTRL/command+Click the layer thumnail makes a selection that matches the edges of the layer content, not the same, as having the layer highlighted on the layer palette
what would be nice is to have the two effects in one (right/control clicking on the image, then Control+clicking the name in the drop down list to highlight and laoding a selection of the layer...
