help on tuts

i was doing this tut...

but i couldnt do step 4... i kept getting white lines with blue "beads" on their end... what am i doing wrong?

Not just you. I got them too, I see what you mean. Try double clicking the layer to go into blending on that layer, setting the mode to colour dodge in your general blending options, and then reduce the fill opacity in Advanced Blending to 70%. Luckily, the tut author made pictures along the way. I think this matches up pretty close. I'll continue along the tutorial using this, and see how it turns out. If there's any other pitfalls, I'll post them.

EDIT: Finished. Using this technique every time instead of colour dodge did the trick.
