rendering an image?

On photoshop 5.0 there's an option "render image". A buddy of mine that's good with photoshop gave me directions on how to make explosive text. It's awsome. The problem is that he's got 5.0 and I have 7.0. I want to know where the "render image" option is on 7.0. I've been asking around till I was blue in the face but I can't find anything. I need help.

It's also known as "rasterize image". Confuses many a people, you're not the first and certainly won't be the last!! :D

Just right click on ur mage layer and on of the options you see should say rasterize layer and it should be good from there. I think you only have to do that with text layers im really not sure for i am still fairly new to PhotoShop
