I'd probably say seeing as it's flash and has some interactivity to it about $40-60 perhaps. I'm not certain though, I'm sure others would be able to give you a better estimate!! :roll

Depends on the client, did they commision the work or did you just do it? Are you going to populate it with content?

i work for this guy and yes i am going to populate it with content. alot of content. and he already has alot of stuff: webhosting and game servers like that. i am making the site for his game servers.

The price depends on many things. What do you actually sell? Only the design, or do you sell the copyright (name, domain), too? Will he use it in a commercial way? These all are just some of the factors multiplied with working hours x 70.
1000 USD are nothing as long as you worked hard on it. But you have to know what you can charge without making him run away.

I agree you could get $1,000 for a design like that (with content) Also depends on how much experience you have, are the images properly optimized? etc.
brandonl
01-20-2003, 07:41 PM
ya every thing is optimized. the whole site all together is about 73kb
would the price increase if i set up all his forums and stuff like that, well what im trying to ask is how much for forum customization.

Now this is where things get sticky
You should always settle on a price before beginning work.
I don't know what his epectations are and what you discussed. Is his a big business or a basement business? I would present it to him and ask him what he is willing to pay - if you trust him.
If you don't trust him, through a figure out there and see what happens. A lot depends on how you discussed the job with him. If he was not expecting to pay a lot, he could get sticker shock. But you did a good job and deserve to be paid for it. I like the Flash work you did, the only thing i would change is the text at the top. :)

Personally I'd take Colin's advice then see what happens - if your desperate to make money from this and nothing comes out of your current client then you can maybe look into template work. However I think the $1000 has possibly made your mouth water ;) - it is a really nice site!

ps, you won't get as much money for a template as you will for a commisioned site. (most templates sell for under $50)

I would say you really don't want to sell it; it's your hobby and passion and you spent a long time creating it for yourself exactly as you wanted it.
Then say if he were willing to pay as much as....say, $2000 dollars for it, you might think about it. Then settle for the $1,000 later.
If he doesn't negotiate, don't be a sucker and sell it for one or two hundred dollars.
Just continue on with it like nothing happened.

$100-$150 USD.
Sites made in entirely flash have many drawbacks.

I really dont see the draw back for me, that just means i get payed to update it. so..... i get more money :D
plus its not a template it is a custom site.

I can't see the site, either. I get a 404 Error: Page Can't Be Displayed.
I don't think I'd pay a $1,000 for that...lol.
