Help! I purchase some additional fonts on cd the other day and when I installed them it knocked out all my standard fonts in photoshop 7. I then uninstalled and photoshop returned to nomal. How can I install and use the fonts in photoshop without upsetting the current standard fonts. what did I do wrong???

I will tell you how i usually do it but maybe there´s also some other ways to get it done.
I am copying the fonts to the directory located at Harddrive/Program Files/Common Files/Adobe/Fonts
and just paste them their maybe you have to restart PS before he will recognize them but thats how it should work and it works for me
Good Luck

I usually add them to the fonts folder in windows. Then I open the font in the fonts folder. And you can begin using your font wright away.

Thank you, I think I may have solved the
problem. I was adding too many fonts at once, does anyone know what the limit is for photoshop 7.0?

The limit is not Photoshop, it's your O.S.

thanks Sam I am running 98 still, so photoshop has no limit on how many fonts it can hold? I am a brand new user only about 4 months now. so I am very eager to learn. Looks like I found the right web sight.

No problem. If you want to use a lot of fonts you should have a font manager, having a lot of fonts active slows everything down, and makes it hard to find the font you want, check out wwwdafont, look under tools, they have a couple of free managers.
Sam
That goes for everything, styles, custom shapes, etc... - the more you install the longer it takes photoshop to load up, and the slower it runs, but some people like to load styles fonts, or etc as they need them
