Hey all,
I am desperate. I have sliced my page in imageready transported it to DWeaver and uploaded it and no matter what I do I can't seem to get the page to load up like every other page on the web.
It loads slice by slice. not all at once. Please help! :(
here it is anyway...

All sites load like that, some quicker than others. If your slices were a smaller file size, perhaps it would be quicker.

if you use imageready to export your slices, they will write a preloader automatically in your code.

hmmm,
after browsing around at various sites I have discovered that as john states all sites are frame by frame.
HOWEVER this problem is disguised with a background colour, your site mkeefe is a prime example. I guess the real question is how do I disguise this process with a background colour/image? I have tried experimenting with various techniques i.e. as stated in the tutorial on this site, but end up with frames all over the shop. My idea is simple but a resolution still plagues me. In my search of answers I have created a jpeg super low in quality cloned with the same images as my front page to hide underneath and disguise this process and let the frames generate over it but still am unsucceful.
I have been pulling my hair out over this for days, oh look a bald spot.

GOT IT!!!!
I think.
I have made the images in the slices super small. Then I have put a new layer on top with pics ect that are followed later in the code. This makes it appear like they are loading on top of the page, i.e. the background. WOOHOOO
If anyone can see a better suggestion then let me know. Anyway u can check out my hard yakka. :D
