first off I guess, obj files from Wings seem to work great, except for going into Cinema... Has anyone tried this, and if you have have you noticed that some of your side/faces are missing? I was working some tuts in the wings manual, and when I exported to cinema I was missing like half of my roof, things like that.

While staying on the similar subject, is there a more favourable export filetype for importing into Bryce (5)?
The reason im asking is because i modelled a type of spacecraft in W3D and export as obj, import from Bryce...But all colours applied from w3D seem to be lost - is this common among all types or does obj save only the actual model and not colours etc?

w@r I looked, and Cinema doesn't have an import, just file open, after I posted this I went through and exported every file type available from wings into C4D, most wouldn't open, although three would. The three that would were .3ds, .obj, .wrl Anyway 3ds files come in and look funny, almost like they are already smooth shaded, didn't really like that. I end up missing pieces with the obj export, but the wrl exports with no problems at all. I don't know if this export will work for bryce, I actually don't know anything about this format, but I know it works from Wings to Cinema 4D, if anyone happened to have the same problem.
Kris, I had the color problem too going from Wings to C4D, I can't remeber what I did, but my colors actually come back with a little bit of playing around with settings. I am not familiar with Bryce, but couldn't shade in Bryce? I make the models in Wings, and then do all my texturing/shading In C4D. Just a thought.

Kris, I might be wrong, but whenever I export an .obj file, it also exports a .mtl file, which I presume stands for material. Have you tried importing that too, and seeing if the vertex colours transfer too? I don't know if it would work, just a thought.

3ds proberly looks funny cause you dont have enough polygons/faces.
also if your model exist out 1 piece you only can give it 1 color.Look how many objects i use for 1 model.
If you want a round look like a circle you should have atleast 64 faces next to eachother.
