Help? Tips?

I'm new here and would like to say thank you to everyone for creating such a great and useful place for helping people create graphics.

Anyway, i'm a PS n00b and am really intent on learning how to make some borders for my graphics. Could anyone tell me how i can do this? Thanks a lot.

P.S I use PS 6.0

can you explain your project a lil more detailed?

what kind of borders do you want to create?

are u used to the basics of PS?

a simple way to @ simple borders:
have you image open, press CTRL+A // to selct whole image...
goto EDIT in the top menu, select STROKE there.
choose "inside"
choose an amount of pixels
chosse color
hit OK...
...thats it, a simple border in the color of your choice ;)

Thanks for that, i was also looking through the tutorial section and around all of them there are really cool shaped chrome borders. Does anyone know how to make these?

for a starter i will suggest u to try the bevel/emboss feature in layer styles
