just out of the womb and lost

I just upgraded from Paint Shop 6 where I knew just enough to get into trouble.

I now am completely lost with ps 7.

Any suggestions on where to start and any good sites that will walk me through the basics of navigating ps 7 with explanations of what all the tools do in a idiots vocabulary?

To learn the tools just go through the manual and the help section. Then when you feel comfortable with those check out the tutorials section on the main site here and check out the links section for lots more great tuts!
