Website copyright?

thats not kool blue fusion you used a web template from freetemplates.com or somewhere like that and took their copyright off the footer when it said to keep it. and you put copyright by you? thats not kool.

He is a 13 year old kid. Lets give em the benefit of the doubt until he comes on here and explains himself. I would like to think that he isn't a theif............. especially with all of the attention he has been trying to draw toward that site. Pretty annoying, overall......... but ya gotta love the enthusiasm. If he is a theif, that is pretty damn sad.:(

hey, i got something to say, but that's only my opinion, if u're opening a design company, u've to work for ur site, to make ppl more trust for u, not simply takes ppl's templete, it's not design by u..but others.

Yeah, Im still learning how, AND I GOT THAT FROM A FREE TEMPLATE SITE! just so yall know, I have never known about copyright, cause im to young to catch the meaning but, if its from a free site, where do i put my copyright!!??!?!

Why do you have to humiliate me like that, have you ever heard of a u2u, what a great way to wake up. and you dont even have a site so what do you know about setting everything up, Ive been having to use swish to make designs, because I cant figure out html, I am extremely mad at you, not even I would stoop low enough to make a post dedicated to insulting me, and you go ur point, I fixed it, you are on my hate list.

no they are not insulting you...

they are saying that since atleast 90% of that site was made by someone else - u should leave the copywright that came with the template....

there is just a slight misunderstanding... and yes... there didnt need to be a public post about this... u could have let frosted know about this in u2u...

and ppl arent that cold. It's just if you know how much work is put in to making a website and you decide to release your design to others for free so they can build a site then that person should get SOME credit . Just practice and keep practicing i'm not a pro but i work my butt off every day trying to get there.

Now to answer the question... You could put copright like this...

Copyright... (based on a template by "template copyright here")

You can and should still copywright your content, but give the props due to the template designer.

Nobody insulted you, you insulted the owner of the copyright in the first place.
This matter (copyright) is something we all need to learn and therefor it´s imho good to talk about this in the open and not U2U. Be happy someone took the time to correct your mistake here at the Café instead of you finding a lawsuit in your mailbox !

Would you tell the layer can´t talk to you because his firm doesn´t have a site ?

Frosted, you are kinda getting too upset over this.

This isn't meant to be an offensive thing, but Bluefusion is a website deisng company right? This is just my opinion and isn't meant to inult you, but if you're going to start a website design company, you should be able to design your own web sites. I mean, if you can't design your own style for the company, how can the company design numerous styles and layout for customers? Just a thought?

It's simple. Find their "Design Template © *template company" and place "All content © Blue FUsion" under it. I.E

If you want to avoid this in the future create a folder in your account via ftp or the online control panel and throw all your stuff in there you don't want to get seen taking or ammending to teach yourself certain tasks.

Just make sure that the details specified in the source, the template, graphic, tos (terms of service) etc are followed. :roll
