how do you animate a motion blur effect

hey everyone

i was looking at the lamborghini site (www.lamborghini.com) - they have a flash site promoting the latest lamborghinis - as the images move in and out of view they have a motion blur effect which looks cool

anyone know how to do this in flash - i think it's possibly only something like 2 jpegs of the image in this case the lambo with one clear view and one blurred - then a motion tweened moving crossover merge

There are any number of ways they could have achieved that effect, most probably After Effects. An easy way to get similar results would be to use a morphing program like Morpheus(you can find it in the download section at cnet.com), create your morph from a static pic and a blurred pic and then import the individual frames to Flash. Then add the fades and brightens etc.

to me it looks like its just 2 jps that are motion yweened, I have the same effect on my flash site here http://www.pixeloverload.com At least thats how I did mine.

Not crazy about the Lambo site, too many windows popping up

like kiwicolin said, just make two jpgs (images), one being blurred and one being normal and you could easily motion tween them around (or use actionscript if you wanted) to create that same effect

thanks for the advice guys - it has really helped and was just what i was looking for.

i'm getting back into flash now and want to go far with it - i love the amazing range of things possible with it.

i want to do a portfolio site similar in style to colins link above (very nice site by the way)

something i wanted to know was - how does one have interactive changing movies all in one - so if i click on a thumbnail it opens a big version for example. i'm doing a site for a m8 of mine and want to do an art gallery that does the same sort of thing as colins movie.

i downloaded morpheus so will have a play around with that and also the tutorial site will be useful.
