Open both in PS and on one of them the one you want to overlap the other one press CTRL+A and then CTRL+C and then CTRL+V on the 2nd image.

Then toggle the opacity at the bottom right and your done.

or you could place the images to be blended on seperate layers in a single document. Apply a layer mask to the top image layer and then apply a linear gradient to the layer mask. You will see the bottom layer "blend" into the top image.

That is a very basic explaination, try playing arond a bit to make it work for you.

Layer mask is the best way to go.

Ok easy way is this.

1. Put your 2 images on seperate layers. (Open both images and drag one on top of the other)
2. Highlight one of your layers, don't matter which one.
3. Click the White Circular icon at the bottom of the Layers palette.
4. You'll see a thumbnail appear next to the image thumbnail in the Layers palette.
5. Select the Gradient tool. (Black = make transparent, White = show)
6. Press D to switch the colours to default black and white.
7. Drag across and watch what happens.
8. Play around until satisfied with result.
9. Enjoy!! :roll

9. Enjoy!! :roll Yes. But I was following one of the tutorials about the lightening effect and whenver I duplicate a layer, and I click n the 2 duplicated layer, the same layer pops up. Because I wanted to duplicate the lighting because I only had one lightening bold and I wanted to duplicate it so there would be several lightening bolts but you had to combine both layers.:( I use photoshop 7.0 just to let you know. Look at the special effects tutorial and click on the lightening one. You'll see what I mean in the last step.Hope you could help me!:lol
