Made this for a friend's computer at work. He is the Calibration guy that keeps all the gages and measuring tools in check.

it would be better without the grains and the weird blur. the shape is good, the text is good, the name tag's very very good.

Yeah I wasn't all that crazy about the blur either, but as for the grains that is what the real thing looks like...it's a surface plate, perfectly flat surface used for measuring.

I was quite happy with the tag, I'd say 95% that's what the real tag looks like on every piece of measuring equipment...and he always puts tape over it.

Great work tho. The blur is a bit out of place for me, what's its purpose?

As for the box - I really haven't got my head around that but great work none the less!! ;)

On top is a pic of "micrometers" used to measure parts as they come off the machine... accurate to .0001 of an inch or .00254mm for my metric friends.

I like the name tag and the clear plastic the grains and stuff take away from the composition. I think the grains take away from it i would of tried to make something more slick and smoothe.
