Hi, I am upgreading my site (http://www.perfectgamers.com) to flash. I have Macromedia Flash MX 2004 and Dreamweaver. And I was wondering if anyone had any tips and tutorials for beginners. I have checked out some tutorial sites but havent come accross a good site with very well explained tutorials. I would like to learn how to make stuff similar to: http://syndicate.aogoclan.com/ (w@rtistic's website)
Thanks a lot, pyro88

Self-determination will take you places you never been before. I suggest you thumb though the manuel, and that is not being sarcastic. It will give you a solid foundation and get you off your feet.

Hi,
The best advice I got when starting Flash MX was to learn Actionscript from the ground up. This is a cousin of Javascript and is not difficult to master the basics.
From that cornerstone you can make some fabulous work.
Site suggestion for reference would be Derek Frankin's site. He is a master at all this. His Daily Blog is very useful too.

Have you tried actionscript.org (http://www.actionscript.org)?

I agree, learn from the bottom up. If you're familiar with Java, then the lastest version of Actionscript (2.0) should be cake. Keep in mind Actionscript is OOP; Object Oriented Programming. If you never learned any programming language, get ready for the long haul. Don't worry about building sites that impress your peers, with that attitude you probably won't get very far; rushing to create cool effects and skip building a stable platform with hinder your relation with flash.
