I need help with this morph

Hey you guys,
I've found a really nice effect that I want to learn how to creat. The site is http://www.halolounge.com run your pointer over the menu at the bottom of the home page. Can someone please help with this.

Spawn, not to discourage you from creating this effect; this isn't something someone can just walk you through. This effect was done likely in after effects or combustion. I suggest you go and try the demo and go from there. Far as a place where they to walk you through this technique, not going to happen. Your best bet is to not try to replicate these effects and start of with the basics. Then move up the effect you posted. It's not going to come over night...

Actually I see what needs to be done. The bar itself is morphed into a sphere...in the process of morphing a blue glass sphere is placed over it and then some transparencies using flash to create the other effects over the glass sphere...I'm just having problems creating the sphere displacement map to morph the actual bar itself....do you think you can help me with that? I've already created the bar....I want to replicate it because I want to use this effect to create something else
