Hi again,
I recently used PS to design a flyer, it was my first ever effort. I have absolutely no concept of how to lay designs out effectively, and it was quite a challenge to make the whole thing aesthetically pleasing.
I looked at a lot of professional flyers and a lot of design website for inspiration but was wondering if any of those gurus out there have any tips on how to present such things effectively.
The flyer can be found at http://www.geocities.com/donal_dishwasher/index.html.... if you copy and paste the url for each picture it will come up in full size. The bottom picture is a poster.
If anyone has the time to help that would be great.
If not, have a great Christmas.

Sorry.
If I had any decency I would have thanked Senor Colin, as I made the header text after learning from his 'chrome' tutorial on the main site.

Very good first effort, eye catching, which is the whole point, text stands out well and is readable, which seams to be rare today.

It is an Eye catchung Layou...lemme suggest something real quick...for the text if you have Illustrator that'll be a better way to display the text for printing purposes also, the stroke on the text is kinda thick, Again Im liking the look your feeding and im not a StarWars fan.
On the StormTroopin the look is Great,,,again try the layout on Illu. for a more visible outcome...(I Dont know thats how I'll do it) the dates and Time such as R.S.V.P...etc. should align right for a better clash...If you need a hand lemme know Email me at the bottom link!
Peace:

Hi, thankyou very much for replying.
I see what you mean about the stroke on the text. I was so immersed in the whole thing it was difficult to step back and see it with fresh eyes.
Will try to mess around with Illustrator and see what I can accomplish.
For the background, I grayscaled an Isotope and then used a gradient behind it+plastic wrap. Next time I would like the picture to be less restricted by the filters I use - I'm guessing it's just a case of being more familiar with all the options.
Your help is greatly appreciated and I may well be emailing in the future if the offer is still open.
Top weekend to all!:notworthy
