Does it equal?

Hi Everyone In PSCafe' Land,

When I first regisitered to this site I was inquiring on how to enclose a Flash frame on the botton/right corner of my new site. The layout was created, using PS6 (which I am still working on). Here is a picture of my site. I hope I wrote the link correctly. If you can't see it, I'm willing to email you the gif.

What I want to do is when you first roll-over the buttons, it will give an outter- circullar, pusle effect and when you click on any of the buttons, four lines will appear in that large empty area (red field) to create a square where it would become a screen for preveiwing/veiwing the selected links. I don't want the banner or buttons to reset/ switch to another screen. I want to avoid the load time.

Once this is figure out (with the help of you guys/gals), I would continue to build on that and add seemless effects.

...so, can PS6 and Flash 5 work together, by having Flash working transparent over my PS background?

Every suggestions will be taken seriously! I'm hoping on have my new layout up by 1/1/03

Thanks a bunch,
Richie "Dj S.O.O.N." Maldonado

kinda tricky if u want to keep the load time low using bitmap images in flash, but it still can be done. You will have to keep note of how you optmize your images during exporting in PS (i.e. sacrificing some colour quality/deleting away unused colours) and in the exporting of your final swf file.

As for the rollver effects u are talking about, make a movie clip consisting your different rollover states in the library (not in the main timeline) - this includes the animation that you want for your rollover etc. In the creation of your button status, insert empty keyframe for the "over" status and place your created movie clip in it.

one last thing, if you are more interested in getting your target audience to read your content, it might be advisable not to add too much eye candy though, the animation might look kinda nifty in the first place but if the user wants to read your content fast, it might get a tad too draggy in having to see the rollover effects before access of the content

I'm sorry it took long to reply, I have been doing a lot of research & reading a book I purchased (Flash 5.), to get a better understanding. I will try as you say.

Thank you for your help.
