Terrell,
If you have a website, a tutorial would truly help. I have to give it a shot, but I am sure that I would love to do it on some photos of my son as well as myself. Good work with those pics. It is amazing what people can do these days with comps!
Keep up the good work!

Terrell, the differences in the images I toyed with would appear minimal to anyone else. I will try to find a natty looking image to play with and then post a before & after. Maybe later this weekend.
I'm so impressed with this method of retouching. I'd been gaussian blurring a dupe layer, using masking to reveal the eyes and lips and just playing with opacity. Your way is a gem. When I read your description I whacked myself on the forehead (really hard). It was such an obvious thing to do, but I never thought of it.

I just whipped this up quick. Enlarged the original to make the skin look worse (if that's possible) and then edited. Terrell's looks much better, but I guess it helps when you're working on a beautiful face to begin with.

it could be hard to tell with all the jpg compression and such, but to me its just looks like youve removed the girls freckles. She didnt appear to have much acne, scaring, random smudges or anything beforehand so, no offense, but I am not impressed.

Scott, I don't know which image you're referring to. In my pic, the subject doesn't have freckles, acne or scars. I think the main use for this technique is simply to even out skin tone. You have to admit that both edited images look better.
You're pretty skilled with Photoshop, but you have to remember to make allowances for goofballs like me who couldn't manage to do this previously. I love learning new stuff. :)

I think I'm gonna have to agree with Perezfox here. I think freckles are precious. Worry about the non-wrinkled stuff for the wrinkling people, not the young'uns. Nice technique, I just don't agree with the choice of subject. I'd actually be trying to enhance those, not hide them... :)

Nice job!
Got blur? That's hilarious!:lol:lol:lol
Seriously tho, good job. Although I don't know why you'd want to retouch her. She's cute the way she is!
Thanks for sharing your technique.
